Kayla Elias

Undergraduate Student

Kayla is a current Neuroscience and Biochemistry major at Oberlin College. She is passionate about studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms behind neurodegeneration with emphasis on selective vulnerability of brain regions in different diseases. At Oberlin, she has enjoyed performing biomaterials research on polydopamine. Upon graduation, Kayla hopes to pursue an MD-PhD track to become a physician-scientist and perform biomedical research. Aside from being a science nerd, Kayla enjoys reading, hanging out with her dog, discussing Roman history, traveling, and playing the flute.
