Nikolaos Karvelas, MD

Nikolaos was born in Athens, Greece and received his MD from the University of Athens. He is fascinated by the nervous system’s role as narrator of our lives. He previously studied chronic stroke as a member of the Group of Translational Neurology, University of Athens, and was a collaborator of the Cognitive Disorders Group at the Department of Neurology. In his postdoc at the Elahi Lab, Nikolaos is working on modeling vascular contributions to tauopathy using proteomics, and on EV-based liquid biopsy approaches for differential diagnoses of white matter diseases. His favorite activities include reading, socializing, and (daydreaming about) traveling.
